QUOTE(67pimpala @ Apr 9 2007, 10:19 PM) ALL THOSE WHO WERE LAUGHING AT THAT GUY MORE THAN LIKELY CANT AFFORD NICE WHEELS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm laughing. I laugh every time I see $4000 wheels and tires on a $2000 car, in fact. IF you're going to put your car on 2' diameter wheels, you could at least spend a few hundred bucks on 4.10's in the rear to save your drivetrain. |

wouldnt a 4 series gear be bad on the highway? I got 3.08 or a 3.73 in my caprice and that seems to work fine. I got a two series gear in the impala. I blow up motors because I can run for miles at 120 plus. my buddy has a 67 impala 327 cid 400 tranny with a 4 series gear and he winds out at about 60 70 mph. that defeats the idea of having a street rod. But i have not had any probs out of any of my cars due to big wheels

I got it like that! its all types of gear heads in chicago and northwest indiana. small blocks come a dime a dozen. On the west side of chicago its 3 guys that been around for years that build strong motors. The going rate for a 350 bored 30 over to a 355 new intake carb head work installed is 2,500$. We got all types of street racing events going on until the "blue coats" come shuts us down by turning on the hydrants. Then theres u.s.41 international dragway in morroco ind. and joliet speedway in joliet IL. I strted out in 04 with the stock 327- then bought a 400 and it was bad, then a 350 from a tow truck bored 30 over thenpull that out with the two speed power glide then went 350cid 350 tranny then went 350 from 73 vette. the last motor (73 vette motor) I wore 2 lobes of the cam. When you get off of work in the wee hours of the morning and there nothing but you and and some rice burner on the highway? well we talking full throttle til sombody exits or blows up!

QUOTE(67pimpala @ Apr 10 2007, 10:27 AM) wouldnt a 4 series gear be bad on the highway? Not with monster wheels & tires. Increasing the diameter of the wheel/tire has the same effect as putting a numerically lower ratio gearset in the rear. Changing to a more aggressive gear ratio will bring it back toward normal. |

My 22's are the same radius as my n97's withe rubber and all. as a matter of fact my n97's are alil bigger in diamater because my 22's are low pro's 30 series tires. if I put both wheels face to face the eagle r-a tires would tower over the 22's and tires by about an inch and a half

Okay, this was supposed to be a thread regarding a funny video, and it turned into a bashing thread. Please knock it off.
