check out "scoop the loop" on youtube. Its when waukeagan, IL pd lets you drive around downtown waukeagan showing off your ride and blasting your music. I plan to go this year. That blue caprice in the above picture he is from chicago. I seen him a few times. Check out the eastcoast ryders dvd these guys you got to give em there props! these guys have nice rides on 22to30inch wheels and they do all kind of long burn outs and these cars still retain power. I would be willing to bet a lil dough or just to show and prove that I could smoke or at least be behind under a second any stock lt1 9c1 with its n97's. Who wants some? u.s 41 international dragway in morroco. ind or joliet in joliet. IL

QUOTE(67pimpala @ Apr 11 2007, 09:24 AM)

wow!! big wheels makes you a thug huh? Is that right? Big is bad these days huh? I got big wheels, a big house, two rental properties plus my house with big equity in em a big fat railroad pay check on the 13th and 28th of every month and big D!(* <----I bet james wont have to use his translator for that! And yeah all us thugs do stand around our rides and "mope" right to the bank. Yeah I'm a 30year old blinged out moopy thug.

No, I don't think anyone calling you a thug, It's just when you completely change the appearance of a nice looking car, just to make it look like every other "hooked up" vehicle, you detract from the natural appearance and look it had. No one can tell you what looks good on your car, it's a choice and it is yours, but I think the vast majority of people on this site and many others are "purists", and they want their Caprice to have certain qualities like performance, handling, durability, ride etc... So putting massive wheels and tires with nothing else pretty much destroys these aspects above, and for most of us, is just tacky and tasteless to boot. Just like when a ricer puts an exhaust on his civic, netting a 3 and a half HP gain, but loses 5 because of weight with the massive rear spoiler he added to create downforce at a speed he will never attain, all show and no go basically.

If you can throw down every week/month for a new motor, why don't you get those gear heads to put in a proper tranny/driveshaft/rear end combo, unless you enjoy throwing money at your car for no good reason.

So if all you care about is looks, then go ahead... oh wait, it still looks like ass.

+100. We toned down some of our "purists" attitudes and tried to become more openminded, but when you use just plain bad forum ettiquet (all caps, no punctuation, etc) and expect everyone to respect a beat police car with rims that cost more than the car is worth in it's current state, well, what do you expect?

dry.gif Hey its a car culture, I get all kinds of complaments and props where ever I go. I undrstand the purist thing too. But where I'm from we like chevy cars of most models with 20" wheels or better with 2 tone paint jobs. I just joined a car club that has picnics an fund raisers planned and its family based, I see some of the members have cars with imperfections and things on em that I would never do to my caprice, some cloned SS's with L99's (w) and its still all good we have fun cutting through the city, like saturday we had 32 cars total when we went to washington park, the whole city and most of the suburbs was there the south side monte carlo club, the charger/magnum clubs and so on......... we have over 50 members,we all hang out and network or just meet and greet. The rice burner crowed hangs out on pulaski and kinzie on the weekends and I check them out while they race sometimes with their crappy lil cars that sound like go karts and nobody disses anyone It's all fun and about style. You cant deny that most people like cars with some nice rims 20" and up. I told the guys about the 9c1 site and was hoping to have some networking going on you know, these guys got parts anda lot of know how and you guys got the same. But whats common is that we all like the b-body. Personal prefrence is one thing, Bias is another!
